Picture shows (l-r) Pastor Bob Elkin, Ruby Wax and Dewey Chafin. In search of the heartland of the USA, Ruby visits the Appalachian state of West Virginia. There, she meets members of a fundamentalist Church which believes that the Bible has told them to handle deadly snakes and drink poison. Ruby attends the service - during which timber rattlesnakes and copperheads are freely handled and strychnine is consumed. Ruby Wax returns with a second series of her acclaimed documentaries about different and unusual aspects of American society, meeting along the way some remarkable people in remarkable situations. And all delivered in the irrepressible and inimitable Ruby style.
